Phylis was born Phylis May Cooke somewhere in the Nottinghamshire area.
She was a wonderful grandmother to whom I loved with all of my heart.
In her later life she enjoyed much fellowship with the Salvation Army to whom she would some times play the organ and join in with the playing of the occassional tamborene.
Towards the end she ended up in the nursing homes and if there was a piano when streinth would allow she loved to occassionally have a tinkle on the old ivorys and had some of the other residents singing along.
Phylis I still miss you dearly

We had a wonderful grandmother,
One who never really grew old;
Her smile was made of sunshine,
And her heart was solid gold;
Her eyes were as bright as shining stars,
And in her cheeks fair roses you see.
We had a wonderful grandmother,

She's still keeping an eye on all of us,

You will always be my Inspiration with the way you built your life. All the Children you helped in difficult times was a trully admirable thing
Even towards the end you naver gave up doing for others, even in your final address in the Nursing Home you was happy to serve others, even if it was just by playing the piano from time to time for the other residents to sing along to! When ever I came to visit you it was always like one big party with everyone singing all the old war songs you where playing on thier old piano.
Hope you are now able to play music for the Angels to sing to with you.
